Three years of war, three experiences of life during wartime

16 April 2026

None of them could fully comprehend what was taking place when Sudan’s war broke out, now entering its fourth year. And none of them believed it would continue for so long.

Abdelmoneim Amer is a musician who taught music in Khartoum. Al Rashid Breima had several successful projects lined up in the capital. Murtada Abdallah was working and living in Omdurman, the capital’s second city. Hear their stories and reflections on the ongoing conflict as we solemnly commemorate the third anniversary of Sudan’s war.
