Sudan remembers 3 June 2019

8 June 2022

Last Friday, marked the third anniversary of the 3 June 2019 “Ramadan Massacre” where security forces killed over 100 people and injured countless others. Every year, a protest march is held on 3 June to commemorate those killed in the massacre.

Three years since, citizens are still demanding justice for the deadly attack by security forces that managed to break the sit-in situated at the army headquarters that helped topple former president Omar al-Bashir. To date, despite a commission set up to investigate the attack, no one has been held accountable for the attack.
